Flowgence ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") operates md2pdf (md2pdf.io), a web-based Markdown to PDF conversion service. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your personal information when you use our Service.

By using md2pdf, you consent to the data practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, please do not use the Service.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

Account Information: When you create an account using Google OAuth or other authentication methods, we collect your name, email address, and profile information from the authentication provider.

User Content: We collect and store the Markdown documents you create, upload, or convert to PDF format. For Free plan users, documents are stored locally in your browser. For Pro subscribers, documents are stored in our cloud database (Supabase).

Payment Information: When you subscribe to a Pro plan, payment processing is handled by TossPayments. We store transaction records (order ID, amount, status) but do not store credit card numbers or sensitive payment details.

Communications: If you contact us via email or support channels, we collect the content of your messages and any attachments.

2.2 Information Automatically Collected

Usage Data: We automatically collect information about your interactions with the Service, including pages visited, features used, conversion counts, and document metadata.

Device and Browser Information: We collect device type, operating system, browser type and version, IP address, and unique device identifiers.

Cookies and Tracking Technologies: We use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies to store user preferences, session information, and analytics data. See Section 8 for details.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information for the following purposes:

  • Service Provision: To provide, operate, and maintain the md2pdf service

4.1 Service Providers: We share data with third-party service providers who assist in operating our Service:

  • Supabase: Cloud database for document storage and user authentication
  • TossPayments: Payment processing for Pro subscriptions
  • Anthropic: AI language model (Claude) for AI-powered writing assistance features. When you use AI features, your uploaded files and text are sent to Anthropic's API for processing. Anthropic processes this data according to their privacy policy and does not use it to train their models.
  • Google OAuth: Authentication service for user login
  • Vercel/Hosting Providers: Infrastructure for hosting the Service

4.2 Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or government authority, or to protect our rights, property, or safety.

4.3 Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred to the acquiring entity.

4.4 With Your Consent: We may share your information for other purposes with your explicit consent.

5. Data Storage and Security

5.1 Data Location: Your data is stored on servers provided by Supabase, which may be located in various regions. Payment data is processed by TossPayments in South Korea.

5.2 Security Measures: We implement industry-standard security measures including:

  • HTTPS encryption for data transmission
  • Database encryption at rest
  • Row-level security policies (RLS) in Supabase
  • Regular security audits and updates
  • Access controls and authentication

5.3 Data Retention: We retain your personal information as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. Free plan documents stored locally are controlled by you. Cloud documents (Pro) are retained for 30 days after subscription cancellation, then permanently deleted.

5.4 No Absolute Security: While we strive to protect your data, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. You use the Service at your own risk.

6. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:

6.1 Access and Portability: You can access your account information and export your documents at any time through the Service.

6.2 Correction: You can update your account information through account settings or by contacting us.

6.3 Deletion: You can delete your account and associated data by contacting us at contact@flowgence.ai. Note that some data may be retained for legal or operational purposes.

6.4 Opt-Out of Marketing: You can unsubscribe from marketing emails by clicking the "unsubscribe" link or contacting us. Service-related emails cannot be opted out of.

6.5 Cookie Management: You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings. Note that disabling cookies may affect Service functionality.

6.6 Do Not Track: Our Service does not respond to "Do Not Track" browser signals.
